Dreaming Big in Liverpool
We created a compelling brand, website & brochure for this landmark development.
Tobacco Warehouse is the largest heritage conversion in UK history, 600 modern homes in an iconic building at the heart of Liverpool’s historic docks. From stylish city studios to spacious family homes, Tobacco Warehouse is at the centre of the city’s most ambitious regeneration programme, transformed into a working, living, thriving community.
We created a brand to communicate the century-long story and exciting future of this great building. A brand to capture the hearts and minds of proud Liverpudlians.

Looking back, looking forward
We dug deep into the past, researching Tobacco Warehouse's past at the heart of a network of docks that put Liverpool at the centre of world trade.
Developing a brand that reflected this illustrious past was important. But this project is also about the future: the re-birth of the area through regeneration, a place which will shape the lives of a new generation.
Our research and workshops led to a brand approach firmly rooted in the area's history, but powered by the optimism and excitement of new beginnings.
A inspiring visual identity
We created the brand's visual identity to reflect the building’s iconic status and distinctive architecture.
The logo balances the industrial heritage of the building with the contemporary simplicity of the interior design. The strong lines of a striking steel girder 'T' are surrounded by the elegantly precise brickwork that characterises the building.
The colour palette is inspired by the rich red hue of Tobacco Warehouse's one million bricks, while the type references the building's characterful period signage.
Other themes - heritage, regeneration and industry - are reinforced through imagery and storytelling.
A lavish brochure
Our 48-page brochure captures the character of the area, the building and the apartments.
To appeal to both local buyers and international investors, the brochure tells the rich story of this stupendous building, placing it within the context of Liverpool's fascinating 20th century history.
It showcases the design of the new apartments, which preserve the original architectural features of the former warehouse, combining bare brick walls, cast-iron columns and beamed ceilings with stunning contemporary finishes.
By incorporating detailed floor plans and rich 3D renderings, we gave potential buyers a real sense of these exceptional spaces.
An immersive lead-generating website
The website uses a mix of compelling copy, inspiring images, aerial videos and artist's impressions to bring the area's future to life.
This thriving new creative neighbourhood is portrayed with enthusiasm & energy, enabling people to envisage a place they'll be proud to call home.
The site has been a successful lead-generating tool for the sales agent, encouraging potential buyers to download plans, get in touch and book viewings.
Virtual tours
The website enables potential customers to explore the building and apartments in real detail.
A custom property management system allows users to search for their ideal apartment based on aspect, location, size and price.
We created an interactive map of the whole 13-storey building, from which individual floor plans for each of the 200 apartments in phase 1 can be viewed and downloaded.
Mapping the space
The architect's plans contained every detail of the new apartments. The trouble was, it was too much detail for most people to consume.
Each apartment's duplex layout meant the building was a bewildering sequence of interlocking apartments, with more than 80 unique layouts. Cracking this complexity was key to giving prospective buyers clear information.
We redrew every single apartment plan, stripping out unhelpful details, highlighting key features, and carefully styling them to provide buyers with the information they really need to make a purchase.
Vision, ambition and honest hard work
Tobacco Warehouse is a building that the people of Liverpool are proud of, an emblem of what makes the city and its people special: vision, ambition and honest hard work.
We are proud to have brought our own vision and hard work to this amazing project. We look forward to seeing Tobacco Warehouse fully restored to its former glory, an icon of the city, providing homes and an exciting new community for people to enjoy.
